JCS participates in the Box Tops for Education program. Box Top labels can be found on a variety of products (click here for a listing) and they translate into actual dollars for the school. As an incentive for your child to bring in coupons we are continuing our dress down day coupons. Please Be On Time
Please remember that school begins at 8:30 a.m. All students, preschool through twelfth grades, need to be in their seats and ready to start the school day by 8:00 a.m.  Parents using the front carline in the morning are asked to please pull all the way to the front so that multiple cars can unload at the same time. 
 
Visitors to Campus
Jupiter Christian School operates on a closed campus policy. Once school begins in the morning, parents visiting campus must first be seen by the receptionist in the front office to sign in. All visitors must wear a visitor's badge and have a specific destination. We ask that parents refrain from visiting their child's classroom unannounced and that they observe the same dress requirements for dress down days as our students (found in the JCS Parent Student Handbook). 
 
In the interest of confidentiality, campus visitors should never enter the clinic or office areas no matter what time of the day unless they have been announced or invited. Mornings especially tend to be a very busy time for teachers and staff; sometimes the best means of communication is by email or a phone call. If you need to meet with a teacher or staff worker, you can schedule a meeting with them at any time. Thank you for your help as we seek to create the safest and most productive learning environment for your child.
 
Carline Tags
Please be sure to use your carline tag when picking up your children in the afternoon. Also, please be certain that the carline tag is visible to the carline caller. The best place to display the tag is on your visor. If you need additional tags, please contact Mrs. Meyer via email or phone at 354.1927. 
Afternoon Front Carline
Parents with preschool children should pull into the right-hand lane for afternoon pick up. Parents with students in kindergarten and up should pull into the left-hand lane. If you have children in the front carline and in second through sixth grade, your older children can come to the front carline so that you only have to go through one carline in the afternoon. To request this, please send a note to your child's teacher.  
 
Elementary Class Shirts
Elementary class t-shirt orders are due by next Friday, September 4. The cost of the class t-shirt is covered in the elementary student fees. Order forms were handed out at Orientation. If you need an additional form you can stop by the front office.
 
Elementary Field Trip and Event Fees
Elementary parents are reminded to turn in their Field Trip and Event fees to their child's teacher no later than Friday, September 18.

Morning Car Line
Please make every effort to arrive at JCS no later than 7:50 a.m.  Students need this time to organize their books and prepare for their first hour class.  All students must be in their seats by 8:00 a.m.  Lately, car line has been backing up at 8:00 a.m., thereby making students late to class.  After receiving 3 grace tardies, each student will receive a detention if late to school.  If you have any questions, please contact Patty Sherrard at 561.354.1923.

Secondary Preview Night for Parents
Parents, please join us on Monday, September 21st, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in our gymnatorium to learn more about our academic programs offered at Jupiter Christian School.  You will have the opportunity to follow your child's schedule, meet their teachers and spend an abbreviated time in each classroom.  At least one parent from each household is asked attend.  If you have any questions, please contact Patty Sherrard at 561.354.1923.

School Uniform Pictures
School pictures will be taken by Lifetouch on Monday, September 28, 2009.  All students are required to be in proper school uniform, as these pictures will be used for the yearbook.  Parents, please make sure your son is clean shaven and has a traditional haircut.  Should you wish to place an order, information will be sent home with your secondary student in the near future.  If you have any questions, please contact Christine Fink at 561.354.1917.

Volleyball Players Walk for 'Place of Hope'
On September 26, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. the entire JCS Volleyball program (four teams and coaches) will participate in the Walk of Hope at Carlin Park.  This awesome fundraiser awareness will support Christ Fellowship Church's, Place of Hope.  If you are interested in supporting these girls, please email Coach Bene Wills at bwills@jupiterchristian.org.

Booster Club’s 2009 William Reed Sr. & Jr. Golf Tournament
The 2009 William Reed Sr. & Jr. Golf Tournament is well underway.  The big event will be November 7th at Turtle Creek Club in Tequesta.   A lot of progress has been made in the planning and various sponsors have been obtained.  The current sponsors include: Nu Cell Techonology, Dr. Michael Scherb D.D.S., Southwest Greens, The Galluzzo Family, A Memorial Sponsorship in Honor of John Corsi Sr. and Palm Beach Acura. We are still looking to fill many more sponsorship opportunities, including the title sponsorship.  Click here for sponsorship levels.

The next meeting for the golf tournament committee will be Monday, September 21st at 6pm in the Athletic Office.  We will be discussing a lot of important aspects of the tournament so please come with your ideas ready!  If you have questions about the golf tournament or interested in becoming a sponsor or volunteer, please contact Jamie Loud at golftournament@jupiterchristian.org
 

Pep Band Performances
The Pep Band will perform at the following JCS football games:

Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Benjamin Upper School at 7:00 p.m. against Glades Day.
Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Benjamin Lower School at 3:00 p.m. against Summit Christian.

Piano and Voice Lessons
Jupiter Christian School offers private piano and vocal instruction to students in third through twelfth grades. Cost for lessons is $375.00 per semester, payable in four installments. Lessons are available on a first come, first served basis. Scheduling priority may be given to older students.  Please contact Mrs. Terry Toren @ 561.313.4465. 

Anthony Pastore - JCS Band Director
Please join the Fine Arts Department in welcoming our new band director, Anthony Pastore. Mr. Pastore was born and raised in New York. He studied percussion at Nyack College for two years and then transferred to Palm Beach Atlantic University. After graduating from PBAU with a degree in music education, he completed a Master's degree in music performance at the Lynn University Conservatory of Music.  

Aaron Knight - JCS Music Director
A former JCS student, Aaron Knight, is the new JCS music director.  While attending JCS, Mr. Knight was the student worship leader, playing drums for Wednesday chapel services. In 2000, he received the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award.  He graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2004 with a degree in music composition. Welcome back to JCS, Aaron!

Cynthia Kimball - JCS Middle School and High School Drama Teacher
Fine Arts welcomes our new middle school and high school Drama teacher, Cynthia Kimball. Mrs. Kimball has a B.A. from Florida State University. She brings with her a wealth of practical and classroom experience, having taught for twenty-five years in public/private schools.  Her son, Rollin, is a junior here at JCS.
